Danish Crown names new CFO

European meat cooperative Danish Crown has appointed an executive from drinks bottler Refresco as its CFO.

Thomas Ahle will join Danish Crown in February. The 48-year-old will replace Preben Sunke, who will become Danish Crown's COO and vice CEO.

Danish Crown chairman Erik Bredholt said: "Thomas has a strong track record with great results in both finance and change management. At the same time, he has broad international experience, and he is a leader with strong communication skills."

Ahle's career includes periods in the food industry, including a stint as CFO for the then Cadbury's operations in northern Europe. After Cadbury's sale to the then Kraft Foods, he worked for Sweden-based baker Lantmannen Unibake for four years, including in the role of group CFO. Since 2014, Ahle has worked for Refresco.

Ahle will be joining a reshaped Danish Crown, which this summer agreed to sell UK business Tulip to US poultry supplier Pilgrim's Pride.
