Katjes Fassin 3D printers to be introduced at Dylan's Candy Bar locations

US candy emporium operator Dylan's Candy Bar is to roll out Katjes Fassin's 3D printer Katjes Magic Candy Factory in the country.

The tie-up will see Dylan's bring what the companies claim is "the first 3D printer in the world" to the US. The Magic Candy Factory is a 3D food safe printer with plug and play design software. It can create custom candies in under five minutes, Katjes Fassin said.

Dylan's Candy Bar said it will be rolling the 3D printer out nationally, with the first Magic Candy Factory machines to be installed in its flagship stores in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami. Online availability will follow, Dylan's added.

The printers will give Dylan's customers access to over 100 different designs to chose from as well as the ability to write names and words, draw candy creations and print greetings on gummy cards, for a flat rate of US$20 per print. The gummies are vegan and gluten-free and made with all natural fruit and vegetable extracts.

"The Magic Candy Factory is a one of a kind innovation and we are so excited to bring our 3D printed confections to the USA. I have been a fan of Dylan's Candy Bar since I started in the confectionery industry six years ago," said Melissa Snover, MD of Katjes Fassin. "Their incredible experimental retail environment and customer comes first service make them the absolute perfect fit for the magical innovation we developed."
