The appointment of a new marketing chief at Findus will trigger an upswing in promotional activity, a spokesperson for the group has indicated.

Leendert den Hollander has been appointed chief marketing officer, the frozen food manufacturer revealed today (3 November).

Leendert joins Findus Group after 15 years at Procter & Gamble, where he worked across multiple product categories and brands.

"He will play a vital role in helping the Findus Group step up its marketing agenda - bringing new focus to our core development programme, leveraging consumer insights and driving innovation," chief executive Chris Britton siad.

A spokesperson for the company told just-food that there will be an "up-weighting of the marketing spend" following the appointment.

However, the spokesperson added that it was too early to provide details of Findus' marketing plans.
