New Zealand dairy cooperative Fonterra has appointed Blake Anderson as director, value added ingredients.

Anderson, who will be based in Fonterra's corporate headquarters in Chicago, will oversee the company's ingredients operations in North America, Europe, Japan and Korea, as well as key relationships with global food companies.

Formerly of Symrise, Campbell Soup and Dean Specialty Foods, Anderson will report directly to Andrei Mikhalevsky, Fonterra's managing director for ingredients.

"Blake is a highly respected leader in the global food industry and brings more than three decades worth of experience to Fonterra," Mikhalevsky said. "Blake's role will allow Fonterra to further strengthen relationships with our key customers, and hone our focus on value added business."

Anderson most recently held the position of president, flavours and nutrition Division, for Symrise's North American region.
