Kellogg has launched a breakfast on the go snack

Kellogg has plans to launch 40 products in the US early next year, with innovation in cereal, frozen foods and snacks.

The Special K maker said the new lines reflected "new or emerging consumer needs and preferences".

It is introducing a new cereal - Mini-Wheats Harvest Delights - in two varieties, blueberry and cranberry with yoghurt drizzle.

As mentioned on an investor call with after its third-quarter results, Kellogg is also launching new Special K Nourish cereals in Apple Raspberry Almond and Coconut Cranberry Almond, both with multi-grain quinoa flakes.

The firm has taken a new approach when it comes to "on-the-go" breakfast with the launch of Kellogg's To Go Breakfast Mix - a cereal and nut blend that is designed to be eaten without milk. The product comes in single-serve pouches and features two variants: salted caramel and praline almond, plus cinnamon roasted candied pecan.

In the frozen food aisle, Kellogg is rolling out meat-free MorningStar Farms Meal Starters Chik'n Strips and Meal Starters Steak Strips.

Also under its MorningStar brand, it is launching veggie bowls in two variants: Thai yellow curry and mushroom and asparagus orzo, as well as vegan white bean chilli burgers.

The Keebler cookie range will see the addition of a Thins version of its Simply Made cookies in chocolate chip and lemon sugar. "These thin treats are made with simple ingredients you would expect to find in your kitchen, such as flour, eggs, butter and real sugar," said Kellogg.

Kellogg is also adding flavours to its Eggo Thick and Fluffy waffle products, as well as to Pringles and Cheez-Its.
