US doughnut maker and retailer Krispy Kreme has made an agreement with retailer Wal-Mart Canada that will improve the doughnut company’s wholesale business.

Wal-Mart Canada, a unit of US retail giant Wal-Mart, has announced that 13 of its southern Ontario stores will offer Krispy Kreme’s original doughnuts starting this week.

Wal-Mart is the first mass merchandise retailer in Canada to sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts, reported Dow Jones News Service. In the US, Wal-Mart and its Sam’s Club stores sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Krispy Kreme also aims to expand its own network of outlets, with plans to open 11 new stores in Canada by the end of the year.
