Leclerc is planning to invest €100m (US$130.8m) in extending its supermarket network in Poland in 2005, French newspaper La Tribune reports.

The French retail group will add two new outlets this year to its existing 15 stores in Poland.

Leclerc's presence in Poland dates back to 1996 and last year it generated a turnover from its activities there of close to PLN1.7bn (US$543.8m).

The group's international network also extends to Italy, where it has forged an alliance with CONAD and also to Spain, Portugal and Slovenia.
