  • Meals Served: More than 650,000 McDonald's meals served: Quarter Pounders, Chicken McNuggets, bottled water, orange juice and soft drinks served to rescue and recovery workers at "Ground Zero" in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, and Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
  • Ground Zero:
    Mobile McDonald's restaurants serving the tireless work force at the Pentagon site
    McDonald's mobile unit at "Ground Zero" in New York has now served approximately 600,000 meals to relief workers. This service is ongoing.
  • Letters: Thousands of letters from school kids are going directly to rescue and recovery heroes along with the food in McDonald's bags. 
  • American Red Cross: An estimated $4.5 million collected at McDonald's U.S. restaurants through Ronald McDonald House Charities' canisters now earmarked for the American Red Cross. McDonald's Canadian restaurants have raised approximately $100,000 (US) pledged to aid relief efforts.
  • $1 Million pledged from Ronald McDonald House Charities to aid disaster relief.
  • $1 Million pledged from McDonald's Corporation also to aid ongoing relief efforts.

The American Red Cross is providing lifesaving assistance in the form of immediate disaster mass care and blood to victims and emergency workers in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania following the incomprehensible attacks of September 11. The Red Cross will stay with these people as this tragedy unfolds. The Red Cross has been on the scene from the beginning providing disaster support in the form of food, shelter and mental health counseling to all individuals affected.
