Failed supermarket giant Mycal Corp. has scrapped plans to pay a small winter bonus to its 7,200 employees, company officials revealed earlier today [Wednesday].

Mycal, which applied for protection from its creditors in mid-September, is currently in the process of rehabilitation with the aid of retailer Aeon Co.  An official from Mycal revealed that the administrator of its rehabilitation program ruled against the bonus because Mycal was a bankrupt company.

The company's workers, who were expecting to pick up a winter bonus equal to one month's wages next Monday, have been notified.
