Nestle is investing US$3.8m in an expansion project for its prepared foods business in the US.

Nestle Prepared Foods and Baking told just-food yesterday (4 August) that it will take over a 75,600 sq ft facility in Solon, Ohio.

"In the US, these are successful and well-regarded brands; our business continues to grow and we required additional office space," the spokesperson said.

Nestle Prepared Foods has eight facilities in the US, in Ohio, South Carolina, Utah, Arkansas, California, Kentucky, Massachusetts and Virginia.

The company has its headquarters located in Solon, Ohio.

In 2009, Nestle US recorded sales of $10.4bn.
