Nestle has announced investment at its plant in Boue.

Nestle has confirmed it plans to invest EUR27m (US$40.7m) in boosting infant formula production at its plant in Boue in France.

The factory produces baby formula under the Guigoz and Nidal brands. The investment will see capacity of the products increased through modernising production lines.

A spokesperson for Nestle said: "The EUR27m investment will be used to accelerate the dynamic and help us gain new volume in international markets."

The spokesperson did not disclose which markets Nestle was targeting with the additional capacity. According to local press reports, Asia and China are the target markets.

No new brands will be produced as a result of the investment, it was confirmed. The spokesperson also told just-food the investment would not see any new jobs created. "It is just an increase of our level of production," he added.

Yesterday (5 February), Nestle announced it was acquiring the remaining stake in its Israel subsidiary, Osem Investments.
