Premier Foods, the UK's largest food manufacturer, has hired former Sainsbury's customer insights executive Jeremy Garlick to run its consumer trends unit.

Garlick will be general manager, group insight at the Mr Kiplings-to-Branston pickle maker.

Will Carter, managing director of Premier Foods' ambient foods business, said: "It is absolutely essential that we continue to develop and drive consumer and market insights that inform and influence our business decisions and ensure category growth."
