Singapore Food Industries has struck a deal to distribute fruit and vegetables for Malaysian Agrifood Corp (MAFC) in Singapore.

MAFC has handed SFI exclusive rights to handle its fruit and veg in Singapore as it looks to boost its presence in the region.

CEO Azizi Meor Ngah said: "The impact of globalisation places high value on the knowledge economy and corporations must rise to the challenges of creating and sharing knowledge today."

SFI chief executive Roger Yeo said the venture would help develop "a superior cold chain and distribution arrangement in the Singapore market for fresh vegetables and fruits".
