UK ambient food group Symington’s has launched a direct-to-consumer (D2C) platform, it has revealed.

The company, based in Leeds in northern England, said Symington’s to You has been rolled out following a “huge uplift in demand from the country’s consumers for its products in recent months”.

The online ordering service went live on Monday (17 August). It will provide access to the company’s best-known brands, including Mug Shot convenience snacks and Naked instant snack pots.

Symington’s site has gone live with five ‘bundles’ available to purchase by UK mainland-based customers each priced at GBP10.00 (US$13.13) plus postage and packing.

David Cox, CEO of Symington’s, said: “We’ve seen some major changes to the landscape of retail since Covid-19 hit, with many consumers turning to online shopping for their everyday essentials and more. Now that lockdown is easing and demand for our brands remains strong, it feels like the perfect time to launch our direct-to-consumer platform.

“It’s become clear in recent months that there is plenty of space for brands to move into the direct-to-consumer market while continuing to work in partnership with retailers, so we are looking forward to seeing how consumers respond to our offering given the demand we’ve been experiencing.”
