Dutch food giant Wessanen has expressed possible interest in buying up certain health and nutrition brands of Swiss company Novartis.

"We are interested [in purchasing the brands] based on the information we currently have," board member Koos Kramer told Reuters yesterday [Tuesday].

Novartis, which controls brands such as Ovaltine and Isostar, revealed that it was open to approaches from buyers earlier this month as it sought to focus on developing new medicines.
