Whitworths said new line targets healthier snacking trend

Whitworths, the UK supplier of dried fruits, nuts and seeds, is expanding its snacks line with the launch of Full of Super – a healthy snacking range the company said "taps into the growing superfood market".

The range includes Flaxseed Crackers in cayenne chilli or garlic and herb varieties, Maca-roons available in vanilla or cacao flavours and Raw Bars in a choice of cacao or coconut. All of the products are on sale at selected Sainsbury's stores in the UK. 

The new products, which include B12 and omega 3, "are aimed at consumers who desire tastier and healthier snacks that are free from fillers and simply packed full of super, high-quality ingredients", Whitworths said. "Each product is gluten free, soy free and suitable for vegetarians."

Whitworths' superfoods line comes hot on the heels of recent launches including a range of Mix 'n' Bake mixes designed to make baking more convenient and Whitworths Fusions – bagged mixtures of fruits and nuts

Whitworths CEO Mark Fairweather, who joined the company last year from Associated British Foods, said in October "innovation in the form of exciting and healthier products, focusing on uncompromised great taste, remains at the forefront of our plans to ensure continued growth of the business in the healthy snacking and baking categories".
