UK firm Young's Seafood has added six products to chilled range The Funky Fish Kitchen.

The brand was launched in UK supermarket Asda a year ago, featured products associated with spring; the new lines have been inspired by autumn and winter flavours, Young's said.

The new products include two ready-to-eat dishes "ideal for lunchtimes and in salads" and four ready-to-cook products to go alongside sides such as vegetables, pasta and baked potatoes. They feature a range of seafood options from salmon, to cod and river cobbler and flavours including spiced orange and Thai green curry.

Young's development chef Serge Nollent said: "We developed the Funky Fish Kitchen to bring consumers lots of exciting new flavours for them to try and inspire them to eat fish more often."

Young’s Seafood Limited’s hit chilled range The Funky Fish Kitchen has launched six new products. Launched a year ago exclusively in Asda the Funky Fish Kitchen’s contemporary, versatile products and their innovative flavour combinations have proved very popular with consumers. Earlier this year new products with spring flavours were introduced to the range and now Young’s are building further on this success with six new products inspired by autumn and winter.

Young’s is committed to encouraging and inspiring consumers to eat more responsibly sourced fish and the new products continue to provide a variety of ways for consumers to incorporate fish into their lunch and dinner mealtimes. The new products include 2 new ready to eat products, ideal for lunchtimes and in salads, and 4 ready to cook products that go with a whole range of sides such as vegetables, pasta and baked potatoes.

These new autumnal and winter flavoured Funky Fish Kitchen products have been developed by Young’s Development Chef Serge Nollent who was inspired by the fresh new food trends coming from around the world. The Smoked Salmon with a Spiced Orange, Onion & Balsamic Marmalade makes for a delicious lunch on a cold day at lunchtime whilst the Smoked Cod Fillets with a Wholegrain Mustard, Horseradish & Cheddar Cheese Melt will be a welcome evening meal as the nights draw in. There’s also two more fish species, Mackerel and River Cobbler, included in the new products to support consumers branch out their taste buds even further and try something new.

The new products continue to sport the colourful, distinctive fish and scales design that conveys the fun, modern products to Asda consumers. New packaging innovation gives consumers further inspiration for expanding their fish cooking repertoire. The River Cobbler Fillets with a Thai Green Curry Sauce feature step by step instructions for making a delicious curry with vegetables, incorporating the product.
