Blog: How to stop the spread of BSE

As we Brits know to our cost, it's worth pulling out all the stops to prevent the spread of BSE (bovine spongiform encephalopathy or mad cow disease). Canada reported its first case earlier this year, since when predictions of further cases have abounded. There is much discussion about measures to stop the disease spreading, and Dr Manfred Weissenbacher has added his voice to the argument for a new feed ban that will remove cattle protein from the feed market.
