Blog: Royals hit Krispy Kreme for baker's dozen

Staff at Krispy Kreme will have met some very happy customers today thanks to a butter-fingered Jeff Weaver. Whenever the Royals get 12 hits at a home game, Krispy Kreme will exchange a ticket stub from the baseball game for a dozen free doughnuts. Thanks to Weaver, who proved an unreliable pitcher for the rival Yankees team, the 35,596 fans who attended the game could between them claim 427,152 free doughnuts.
