Blog: Tinfoil delight

Catherine Sleep | 24 July 2003

I really must be getting very sad in my old age – I just got a kick out of tinfoil (aluminium foil)! I was unrolling some to line a grill pan when I noticed some writing imprinted into the foil. “This roll is almost finished,” I read, “remember foil on your shopping list!” I’m impressed. It is SO annoying when you run out just at the crucial time while preparing a meal or a picnic. Plastic airtight containers and cling film are just as good or better for many purposes, but there are times when it HAS to be tinfoil.

I hope the clever guy or gal who thought up this simple idea was rewarded.
