Red’s All Natural, the US producer of Mexican food, has opened its first wholly-owned manufacturing plant in North Sioux City, and over the next few weeks will be switching the production of all its products to the South Dakota site.

The Tennessee-based company, which claims to be the fastest growing brand in the frozen Mexican food segment in the US, makes frozen burritos, burrito bowls, enchiladas and taquitos.

Red’s chose the location for the new factory to give the company easy access to sourcing the best ingredients, as well as tapping into the local workforce – 40 new jobs will be created as a result of the opening. The central US location also makes the company well positioned to ship its products to customers nationwide.

With a research and development kitchen at the plant, where chefs will be able to develop new products, there is also room for future expansion if and when required.

“We have always valued quality above all else and couldn’t be happier to have total control over our own production so we can deliver an amazing food experience,” said founder and CEO of Red’s Mike Adair. “Having our own facility is not only the natural progression of our company’s trajectory, it’s also critical to ensure that every Red’s product we put on freezer shelves has the very best ingredients, tastes amazing, and is made with great care.”
