UK dairy products maker Dairy Crest has announced the acquisition of minority interests in the English Butter Marketing Company.

Dairy Crest said that it has now purchased the outstanding 44% minority in the English Butter Marketing Company, which owns the Country Life brand, from The Cheese Company Limited (6%) and Associated Co-operative Creameries (38%) for a combined cash consideration of £4.0m (US$7.2m).
“This acquisition will give Dairy Crest the opportunity to accelerate the development of the Country Life brand,” the company added.
