Ranjit Singh, the CEO of UK company 2 Sisters Food Group, is looking to acquire Irish turkey supplier Grove Farm in a private transaction.

Tom O’Driscoll, Grove Farm’s chief executive and the owner of a third of the business, said the deal had been done and was set to be considered by regulatory officials at Irish watchdog The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

“The acquisition is completed but subject to competition authority approval,” told just-food.

O’Driscoll declined to say whether Grove Farm was looking for a buyer or whether Mr Singh had approached the business.

O’Driscoll owns Grove Farm with two colleagues after a management buy-out in 2006 from Kerry Group.

Grove Farm, based in Monagahan in the north of the country, supplies turkey products to all major retailers in Ireland, as well as Tesco and Waitrose in the UK. It generates annual turnover of EUR25m. O’Driscoll refused to be drawn on the company’s profits.
