China has arrested over 110 people for allegedly selling pork from pigs that died from illness.
Beijing also announced it has confiscated over 1,000 tonnes of contaminated pork.

The Ministry of Public Security said a “network” of 11 groups had been buying the pork since 2008. The pork had been sold across 11 provinces, including Guangxi, Henan and Hunan. It had also been processed into products including bacon, ham and cooking oil, the ministry claimed.
In a statement, the ministry claimed the accused had colluded with public officials to obtain the necessary certification.
Seventy-five of those arrested have been sent for prosecution.
