PepsiCo has today (26 April) announced a GBP15.2m (US$24.6m) investment at its Walkers crisps plant in Leicester in the UK.
The investment at the Beaumont Leys facility will support the introduction of a production line for kettle-fried potato crisps including the Red Sky and Walkers Extra Crunch brands.
The addition of the line is expected to create around 110 jobs at a factory employing over 2,000, PepsiCo said.
“We have an impressive track record of people working at the site over many decades – in fact, some of our most recently retired colleagues have racked up a phenomenal 800 years of collective service,” PepsiCo manufacturing manager Rebecca Ransford said.
“As we say a fond farewell to these colleagues, we look forward to welcoming new joiners and encourage people of all backgrounds and experience to apply for our roles.”
Applications are now open for the roles, which vary from general operatives and support operatives to more experienced manufacturing technicians.
