The Australian Food and Grocery Council, the industry association for food manufacturers operating in the country, has named an interim chief executive after the exit of Kate Carnell.
Dr Geoffrey Annison, the AFGC’s deputy chief executive, replaced Carnell yesterday (22 March) after she left for non-profit body Beyondblue, which looks to raise awareness of mental health issues. She joined the AFGC in 2008.

Dr Annison, who is also the council’s director of health nutrition and scientific affairs, will hold the position while it looks for a permanent successor for Carnell.
