According to the latest industry data for the 12 weeks to 28 March, UK-based supermarket chain Tesco slightly increased its market share to 24.7%, maintaining its leading position in the Irish grocery market, reported the Irish Independent.


Superquinn’s market share fell to 8.7%, compared to 9% in the year-earlier period, while Musgrave’s market share slid to 22.5% from 22.7%.


German discount chains Aldi and Lidl had a combined market share of 5.1%, compared to 5% a year earlier.
