The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has said it will impose a provisional duty on imports of frozen self-rising pizza originating in or exported from the US.

The CBSA said the decision follows an investigation it initiated on 2 January this year, after receipt of a complaint from Canadian frozen food maker McCain Foods. The Florenceville, New Brunswick-based company alleges that the dumping of US frozen pizza is harming Canadian production by causing price erosion, price suppression and lost sales.
“A provisional duty will be imposed on imports of frozen self rising pizza originating in or exported from the USA to prevent injury to Canadian production,” the CBSA said.
The CBSA added that it will continue its investigation into the alleged pizza dumping and will issue a final decision by 16 August 2004.
