Perdue Farms will continue to operate its DeFuniak Springs feedmill, hatchery, growout and breeder facilities to support its Dothan, Alabama, and Perry, Georgia plants.

Perdue Farms will move production from the DeFuniak Springs processing plant, which employs 392 staff, to other company facilities – including its newly acquired plant in Perry.

Perdue said the DeFuniak Springs plant cannot produce the same product mix as cost-effectively as some of its other facilities.

As part of the move, Perdue Farms will conclude contractual relationships with approximately 48 poultry producers.
