Turkish supermarket company Migros has revealed its plans to expand its operations abroad during the course of this year.

General manager Omer Bozer explained that by entering new markets such as the Ukraine, Yugoslavia, Iran, Syria and Jordan, it should be able to overcome the effect of the 2001 financial crisis in Turkey.
For the full year 2002, Migros expects to generate foreign sales of US$280m, and domestic sales of between US$971.6m and US$1.046bn.
