According to the US Department of Agriculture, fry imports will go from $155m last year to $69m, and potato chip exports will exceed imports by about $91m.

Canada still dominates total US potato imports, accounting for 82% this year, followed by Mexico and the Netherlands. Japan, Canada, and Mexico account for about $540m or 65% of total US potato exports.
