US retail titan Wal-Mart has announced the appointment of Mark Goodman as executive vice president of marketing and membership of its Sam’s Club division, effective 1 October.

Goodman has served in several roles within fastfood giant McDonald’s, including serving as vice president of US strategy and operations. Goodman joined McDonald’s in 1999. Before joining McDonald’s, he served as president of a retail company and worked as a consultant on global supply chain, strategy and manufacturing.
At Sam’s Club, Goodman will have responsibility for strategy development, marketing, enhancement of the membership experience for both business members, and advantage members who don’t own a business, and the divsion’s website.
