A WTO disputes settlement panel had told Canada to reform the Canada Grain Act, Canada Grain Regulations, and the Canada Transportation Act, to comply with the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).


Geneva had criticised mandatory authorisation requirements for foreign grain entering Canada, for instance. But Ottawa says amendments to the Canada Transportation Act and the Canada Grain Act are now in force, answering the WTO’s criticisms. The USA, which brought the case, is reviewing the claims.
