Bernon is currently chief operating officer of Dean Dairy Group’s Northeast Region and has been a member of Dean Foods’ board of directors since 1997.


Pete Schenkel, president of Dean Dairy Group and a member of the company’s board of directors since January 2000, will become vice chairman of Dean Foods’ board of directors, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership for the company’s largest segment.


Bernon will relocate to Dean’s corporate headquarters in Dallas and will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors. Dean Dairy Group employs more than 25,000 people and had sales of approximately US$8.6bn in 2004.
