The European Commission has approved the acquisition of Rimi Baltic, a retailer with operations in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, by Swedish retail group ICA.
Rimi Baltic was formerly a joint venture between ICA and Finland’s Kesko group, but the Swedish retailer, which is itself controlled by Royal Ahold, is now gaining sole ownership through its regional subsidiary ICA Baltic.
Commission approval was granted through its simplified merger review procedure.
