According to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Thompson left the board on 11 August, reported the Associated Press.


The move came just days after the struggling pasta maker disclosed it was carrying out an internal investigation into its accounting practices and was facing questions from federal and state regulators.


The beleaguered company is now also facing shareholder lawsuits alleging that it violated securities laws.
