More than two dozen Hershey chocolate products have been recalled because, the company said, a routine inspection found an externally sourced ingredient that tested positive for salmonella.
The affected almonds were sold in bulk by weight between 23 October and 10 November, 2006.
The company said that there have been no reported illnesses associated with consumption of the products subject to the recalls.
The Smiths Falls factory, which employs 500 people, has been closed since the salmonella contamination was discovered and it is currently unclear when it will reopen.
