DePinto will replace Jim Keyes, who retired from the company earlier this month.  DePinto will oversee all strategic, operational and financial aspects of the company, and will report to Toshifumi Suzuki, chairman and chief executive officer of Seven-Eleven Japan Co Ltd.

DePinto is returning to 7-Eleven from GameStop Corp one of the world’s largest video game and entertainment software retailers, where he has served as president since March 2005.  Before joining GameStop, DePinto was vice president of operations at 7-Eleven.

“Joe’s proven ability to drive results will be an advantage for 7-Eleven as we continue to improve our operations,” said Toshifumi Suzuki, chairman and CEO of Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd., which, through its affiliates, owns 100% of 7-Eleven Inc.

Suzuki is serving as interim president and CEO of 7-Eleven Inc until DePinto’s arrival.  “With Joe’s background in marketing, merchandising, and operations and his demonstrated focus on customer service and satisfaction, he will provide excellent leadership for the next phase of our growth,” he said.  “Joe previously served as 7-Eleven’s Vice President of Operations, so he knows our business and strategies well, and we are pleased that he is returning to 7-Eleven.”
