Following the reformulation of Knorr Lipton Sides to remove milk from the ingredients, products still containing milk were distributed in packaging that did not list it as an ingredient.


On the 3 and 6 October, Unilever recalled Knorr Lipton Pasta Sides Chicken—Fettuccini in a Savoury Chicken Flavoured Sauce, UPC#4100002246. This recall has now been extended to include Knorr Lipton branded rice, pasta, Cajun and Asian sides in the following flavours: Spanish Rice—Rice & Pasta Blend with Bell Peppers in a Sweet Tomato Sauce, UPC# 4100002268; Chipotle Rice—Rice & Orzo Blend in a Southwestern Smoked Chipotle Flavoured Sauce, UPC# 4100002605; Dirty Rice—A Delicious Rice & Pasta Blend with Onions, Garlic and Mild Cajun Spices, UPC# 4100002280; New Orleans Style Chicken Rice—Rice & Pasta Blend with Red Peppers, Chicken Flavour & Mild Cajun Spices, UPC#4100002609; Chicken—Rice & Pasta Blend in a Savoury Chicken Flavoured Sauce, UPC# 4100002266; Sesame Chicken—Whole Grain Rice & Pasta Blend in a Sesame and Chicken Flavoured Sauce, UPC#4100020920; Chicken—Whole Grain Fettuccini in a Savoury Chicken Flavoured Sauce, UPC#4100020923; Thai Sesame Noodles—Lo Mein Noodles in a Soy, Lemongrass & Sesame Flavoured Sauce, UPC#4100002805. All ‘best if used by’ dates are affected.


These products were distributed nationwide, reaching consumers through retail outlets, club stores and dollar stores.


The company said that all of the products affected by the recall were produced at the same manufacturing site.
