France’s leading poultry group LDC has acquired prepared meals specialist Agis.
Best-known for its Traditions d’Asie and Bernard Loiseau brands, Avignon-based Agis is France’s leading ethnic food producer and is ranked fourth among the country’s ready meals suppliers. It employs 355 staff and has annual turnover of close to €44m (US$53.1m).
In 2003, Agis sold its chilled pasta division, Di Pasto, to Belgian food group Ter Beke
LDC recently reported a net profit of €35.7m, up 8%. In October 2004, it announced the acquisition of the poultry division of Brittany’s Coopérative des Agriculteurs du Morbihan.
