Discount chain Lidl, owned by the Schwarz group, has appointed two joint chief executives, reports the Handelsblatt newspaper.

Walter Pötter and Olaf Arnaschus have been giving the job retrospectively from 1 May, the paper said, quoting a company spokeswoman who gave the information to the Heilbronner Stimme.
The previous chief executive Werner Hoffman would continue to serve as a consultant to the Schwarz group.
