UK supermarket J Sainsbury plc today (Thursday) announced that Gwyn Burr has been appointed customer director on the company’s operating board.

The change takes effect from 6 June 2005.  This is a new role, the company said.  It combines Gwyn’s current position of customer services director with many of the areas previously under marketing director, Stephen Nelson who leaves Sainsbury’s this summer.  Gwyn will join the company on a full time basis having previously operated as a part time consultant.
