French delicatessen group Fleury Michon has acquired Canada’s Delta Dailyfood, which specialises in frozen ready meals.  
 
The Montreal-based firm employs close to 300 staff and is expected to post a 2006 turnover of EUR28m (US$35.75m) compared to EUR25m last year.
 
Dutch co-operative Cebeco set up Delta Dailyfood in 1999. Three-years later the company was sold to three of the company’s managers. The latter are staying on following this latest takeover.
 
Fleury Michon is looking to develop the production of its new subsidiary’s towards the fresh ready meals segment, which is enjoying strong growth in the Canadian supermarket sector.
