Ice cream maker Richmond Foods has announced the appointment of Ibrahim Najafi to its board chief operating officer, while Brian Buchan joins as a non-executive director.

Ibrahim Najafi has been Richmond’s operations director for five years. During that tie he has successfully integrated five acquisitions. He has also been responsible for implementing the company’s investment programme which has been crucial in Richmond becoming the UK’s largest and most efficient ice cream manufacturer, the company said
Brian Buchan, who joins the board as a non-executive director was chief executive of SSL International plc between 2001 and 2004 where he was responsible for a successful programme to restructure and refocus the business.
“We warmly welcome both Brian and Ibrahim to the Board. They bring a wealth of skills and experience which will strengthen our senior team as Richmond continues its strategic development,” said chairman Ross Warburton.
