LTP’s functional food ingredient, Olibra, which addresses weight management, is derived from palm oil and oat oil, LTP said.  When applied as a food ingredient, the product has a scientifically substantiated effect of prolonging the feeling of fullness, resulting in significant reductions in energy intake at subsequent meals.

“This agreement with GNC is an important stepping-stone in our strategy to enter into the dietary supplement market world-wide, said Jörgen Quick, managing director of LTP. “There is a clear demand for innovative, functional products, with good clinical documentation in the expanding weight management category.”

Based on a novel product development, GNC has launched Olibra as a major extension into their weight management brand ‘Total Lean’. The product is named ‘Total Lean-Reduce’.

Total Lean-Reduce is a single effective 7.5g dose, which can be safely added to normal food, taken at breakfast and/or lunch. The single dose product is packed in convenient strips for easy use.
