Dutch food and nutrition group Royal Numico NV has announced that it has successfully completed the acquisition of Italian baby food company Mellin SpA.
Numico has acquired 100% of the share capital of Mellin for a total consideration of €400m (US$482m) paid equally in cash and shares. The total amount of Numico shares outstanding has subsequently increased by 6,711,409 shares to 173,060,014 shares.
