UK sugar supplier British Sugar is launching a new product, an invert syrup for bakers that was developed in its technical Food Centre facility.

“Invasweet was developed to meet the bakery market’s very specific need for a pumpable product with a lower soluble solids specification,” said British Sugar’s marketing manager, Myra Hales, adding that the product is ideal for automated production systems that require exact control of dosing.

Hales said Invasweet has a range of applications including morning goods, burger buns, sweet fruited breads, cakes, cookies, biscuits, sugar paste, icings, fudges and frostings.

British Sugar is the leading supplier of sugar to the UK.  It produces around 1.3 million tonnes a year from beet in six factories.
