Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory today (15 August) announced that after 50 years with the company John McLean, managing director and CEO, will retire at the end of this calendar year.
During his tenure, McLean oversaw significant growth at WCB, which has grown to become Australia’s fourth-largest dairy producer.
McLean will remain WBC’s CEO until the handover to a new CEO is complete, and continue his association with the company in a consulting capacity during his retirement, the company said.
The search for a replacement chief executive has commenced and both internal and external candidates will be canvassed, WBC told the Australian Stock Exchange.
