The candy may contain peanuts, which are not listed on the label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
The product is labeled as “Nany Coconut” and comes in a four-ounce, clear plastic package marked with the product name on the top and with an expiration date of July 2002 stamped on the side.
The recall was initiated after food inspectors in New York discovered that product packaging did not reveal the presence of peanuts. The candy was distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail order.
