According to a report in Russian business daily Vedomosti, Russia’s largest grocery retailer intends to rename itself X5. Citing Pyaterochka’s chief executive, the newspaper said the company plans to change its name in September.
It is hoped that the introduction of a new name will distinguish the parent company, which also acquired Perekryostok outlets earlier this year, from its Pyaterochka-branded chain.
